![]() This sharing is triggered by a question posted by someone in our whatsapp group. This is the question "Olivia, Faiket or anyone else who has a word, How would you quit a job which pays well but gives you little joy? Does anyone have a testimony of moving forward? I feel like I am stuck in the rut." This is Olivia's respond: "Every significant change of career move that I had made, there was a CLEAR sign or direction from God 1) LAWYER Received sms from a Man of God to change job - interview supernaturally manifested (was not even looking but Faiket's neighbour's wife arranged for me to meet a local bank senior management) - just 15 mins interview (not even dressed appropriately) at one of Bangsar's cafe - was offered 2 positions (one position was not even in existence but 'created' for me, so picked that) - i asked for RMX, banker said 'you asked too low' and counter-offered much higher. My income jumped 300% when I changed from being a lawyer to a banker. 2) BANKER Pay was good but I suddenly discovered that I had some talents that could be put to use but didn't know how - Faiket had been urging me to quit so that we can venture together as a couple - Prepared letter of resignation but despite Faiket asking me to just tender and go by faith, I refused. I 'said' to God 1) if I am to leave, I don't need to worry for my finance and will be taken care of for 1 year since not earning regular salary 2) there must be a clear sign God want me to leave. Faiket argued then it's not moving by faith like that. I replied 'You pray your way, I pray my way' 2-3 days after that, received a totally UNEXPECTED email for MSS (Mutual Separation Scheme) 1) this scheme naturally shouldn't have happened because the bank just did a voluntary separation scheme not long ago 2) was only with the bank for 7 years, so assumed won't be much but after calculating, the compensation was more than 1 year what I have asked for 3) mutual meant need boss to agree (at that time, I was in a unique position of reporting to 2 bosses) and naturally, bosses wouldn't have agreed as I was doing some critical projects - until now they were still puzzled why they let me go transition was smooth. Most importantly, if I were to act 'impulsively' under the misunderstanding of 'going by faith' and tendered my resignation, I would have missed the MSS compensation! I would have left the bank with NOTHING and more stress! In fact one of my staffs tendered his resignation just few hours before MSS email came out and he lost his right to decades of compensation year just like that TAKEAWAY Faith is just one part of the equation. The main thing is to still to seek God's instruction and act on it irrespective of whether you like it or not. Have your heart to heart conversation with God and listen clearly. How to seek God's instruction? For me, I get revelations from anointed Man of God's teachings on topics pertaining to my season of life requirements, go into tongues, ask for clear sign, etc --- This verse popped up 👇 Psalm 37:7 The Message (MSG) Quiet down before GOD, be prayerful before him. Don’t bother with those who climb the ladder, who elbow their way to the top. Suggest you examine why you have 'little' joy - dig up root cause and ask God how to deal with it"

"Brother Faiket, I think I need some advice on money matters" was the message of one of my friends. The reason he contacted me was because someone posted a message on a Whatsapp group about my book "Uncensored Truth About Money" and the guy was strongly recommending the book.
I replied my friend that we can discuss but the way we minister/advise is very direct and some people cannot take it and easily get offended. Knowing that he is older than me, I thought he would not mind a straight forward approach...but to my surprise, he paused for sometime and said he will be in touch. It has been more than three months that this conversation happened and I have not heard from my friend. Many people would rather accept the status quo that they are living instead of accepting a correction. Many waste many years of their life trying their best to figure out something that they don't know when all it takes is about 30 minutes with someone who already knows the answer to their problem. Be open to correction is very important if you are serious about changing your life. Just like using the waze or google maps when you drive somewhere. You might be taking the wrong turn and the waze application will figure out another way to reach your destination. You have two choices to make: accept the new way that waze application is showing you or ignore it and continue your way and delay reaching your destination or getting even further from your destination. Be open to correction. A young man, that I have not met, except in Facebook, wrote to me that he wanted to buy my book "Uncensored Truth About Money" so I posted him the book. He received the book, read it and commented that he never heard about the truths that I shared in the book. Moving forward almost a year later, I saw in Facebook that it was his birthday so I sent him a birthday wish. He replied with a thank you note and said something that got my attention. He said that things have changed. So, I quickly went to Facebook messenger to ask him to share what has changed.
Here it goes. He said that in the past, his income was not enough to last him till the end of the month. He had to ask his boss for advance cash so he can cover his monthly expenses. After applying some of the Biblical principles in my book, he said that his salary income can last him until the end of the month. Meaning, he does not need to ask his boss for advance money anymore. I told him that is good but he must go to the next level to have more than enough. Good testimony, Praise God but not the best yet. Why? I strongly believe that God's best for him and for all of us is to have more than enough. Yes, more than enough. I just bought a tshirt at one of our christian bookstores called CanaanLand, and the reason I bought the tshirt is because of the printed words "More than Enough". I like that. But, is it Biblical to believe that God wants us to have more than enough? I shared even in my video vlog on my youtube channel "Uncensored truth" that Bible records many occasions that God is a God of more than enough. Jesus was preaching and Peter landed him his boat and a "more than enough" miracle happen. Peter has been toiling all night and caught nothing but Jesus asked to go one more round and throw the nets in the lake and the net was filled with so much fish that the boat almost sank. Peter has to call his partner with another boat to come as too many fish were caught. That is more than enough. Jesus was teaching and preaching to five thousand men not counting the women and the children. Only five loaves of bread and two fish were available. Yet, Jesus with the disciples fed all the people till they were all full, and twelve baskets were left overs. That is more than enough. I can go on and on as there are so many stories in the Bible to prove that our God is a God of More than Enough. So be blessed and believe God for more than enough harvest in every aspect of your life. ![]() Recently I was sharing in a Christian Fellowship and the Lord brought something to my mind to share with the audience and I believe it is very important; Do not limit God. "How can that be" someone might ask. Yes, you can and I have faced people who do just that. Let me explain how do you limit God. It all comes down to what do you believe. When I talk about the blessing of God some people say that I am different. What they mean is that because I look like "Mr. Bean" character, I am blessed as I am unique. They feel that they are normal people and they do not have any special gift or skill. Now, that it limiting God. First of all, God has created each of us for a purpose. Not all are called to be doctors. Not all are called to be lawyers. Not all are called to be engineers, and the list goes on and on. Regardless of what you do, what really makes the difference is the blessing of God on your life. Let us take my example. Yes, at one point in our life, my income as "Mr. Bean" impersonator was substantial. Good income. As my wife and I expended our services and our business grew, now our business income is way bigger than my show business. This proves that my blessing does not depend on my special gift of doing 'Mr. Bean" comedy shows. By the way, our business is not rocket science either. We provide social media marketing and content development like videos and cinemagraphs. It is a normal business but the difference is the blessing and the favor of God in our life. The moment you say I am blessed because I am unique, you are limiting God. If I may use a stronger words, it is like saying "God is a respecter of persons". If you are a believer, you are God's child. We are God's children. His blessing and favor is available for all of us. So do not limit God with your limiting belief. You need to renew your mind. As your soul prospers, then you will prosper. I want to end this thoughts with a very pwerful verse in the Bible and I taking it from Amplified translation. Proverbs 10:22 "The blessing of the Lord - it makes (truly) rich, and He adds no sorrow with it (neither does toiling increase it). I love it." I just love this version and there is so much powerful truth in it. So, be blessed and do not limit God. ![]() The book "The Hollywood Commandments" by New York Times Bestselling Author, Devon Franklin with Tim Vandehey, is a must read for every believer, at least in my opinion. As the subtitle says, it is a spiritual guide to secular success. Many believers separate spiritual from secular so every time we are faced with certain decisions we, most of the time associate secular with anti-spiritual. What I am trying to say is that we put a wall between spiritual and secular and once a believers face tough times in the secular world, they accept as part of being part of that world. I respect the stand that Devon Franklin made in his life by recognizing his calling eve though the church world, the spiritual world around him, did the best to stop him from pursuing his passion in Hollywood. Yes, it could be a dangerous ground where fame, competition and creativity are the back bone of entertainment and the celebrity world but at the same time, if none of us, the believers, are in those Hollywood mountains then who is going to speak to those mountains. Who is going to make a difference to those mountains? Devon Franklin championed many box-office hits, including The Pursuit of Happyness, The Karate Kid, Jumping the Broom, and Heaven Is For Real. DeVon also produced the hit film, Miracles From Heaven.Do you notice that many of these movies are based on faith content! You will really enjoy my favorite chapters like "What the church doesn't teach you about success", Your prayers alone aren't enough", "Your gut is hiding God" and "Your difference is you destiny". Devon shared his life lessons and mistakes that he made to be where he is today. As much as he focused on being the best on what he does, he clearly stated that all of those achievements could have not been possible if not for the grace of God. Guys, please get the book, hardcopy or ebook and read it. You will be blessed. Especially if you are not sure of your calling. Recently, my wife and I, met a young man. He bought my book "Uncensored Truth about Money" and we had a discussion. He was a brilliant engineer when he was working, then he quit his job, started network marketing business and doing so so...maybe at survival mode. He felt strongly about serving in church in worship ministry and that is fine but he was not sure of his calling. My wife had a strong word for him that he could develop some breakthrough solution in engineering. He took a long pause. This guys was really good yah. He shared with us what he had done but he feels uncomfortable committing to the secular world. Many youngsters are going through this cross roads of full time ministry, or secular job, business etc. I hope the church will be the instrument to guide and send the people in the marketplace. The marketplace needs believers who are anointed and blessed to share how good our God is. Be blessed! Read the Devon Franklin Book "The Hollywood Commandment". ![]() Happy Valentine's Day! My posting today on Instagram and Facebook is "With her, everyday is a Valentine Day:) I can hear some of you would say "Come on, be real...". Well, it depends how do you define valentine's day. If it all about love, then yes, no matter what we go through on a daily basis, the foundation of our relationship is love. Even though yesterday we argued about me cleaning up my desk, which is messy, we do not allow arguments to affect our love. I have come to realize that love is more than a feeling. Love is a decision. If my love for Olivia is dependent on some intense feeling of deep affection as defined by some dictionary, then we will be in trouble. Because our feelings are not consistent. I can feel angry and mad at moments so does it mean I do not love my wife during those moments? Not persuaded? Let me go to the spiritual side. God says love your neighbor as yourself and God goes to the next level to love your enemies. If this depended on feelings, I don't know about you, but for me it is totally impossible. So, love is a decision. I am reminded of a man of God, Mark Varughese who said something profound recently "See the God in people, see the good in people, see the gold in people." This is so true. Olivia is not perfect and I am not perfect but we have learnt to see the God in each other, see the good in each other, and see the gold in each other. Love is daily decision. We have been married for 16 years. We took our vows 16 years ago and we decided to do life together back then. But love is a daily decision. Why? Have you seen couples who started very well for a few years then something happened. There are storms that may come along the way related to money, related to career, related to other people, temptations, and so on, and that is the reason I say love is a daily decision. The first thing to thank God for in the morning is my wife. The Bible says, He who finds a wife finds a good thing, and obtains favor from the Lord. Happy Valentine's Day guys! Sometime ago we were invited to a church to share our testimony. Our testimony is mainly about being delivered from what I call supernatural credit cards debts. Jesus said in the Bible, "and you shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free". God used a man of God to teach, correct and guide us on Biblical truths about money. So we started with the foundations of the Bible truth about money and that is to put God first when it comes to money.
So, the foundation principle of money management in the Bible is the principle of the tithe. For those who are reading this and are not familiar with the word "tithe", let me briefly explain. Tithe means a tenth. Bible says that we are to return to God a tenth of our income. I will not go into the teaching of the tithe in this article, that is not the objective. The point that I want to make is that the money is a heart matter. Let me prove it to you from the Bible. In the book of Matthew chapter 6 and verse 21, we read "For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also." Jesus said those words. I heard church leaders quoting this the other way around "where your heart is your treasure will be also". I will stick to the Bible version. According to the Bible, the heart will follow the treasure. Many believers have a hard time to return to God the ten percent (the tithe). Many are willing to give their time, many are willing to serve, many are willing to sing songs, many are willing to go for long prayer meetings but very few are consistent with the tithe. It is matter of the heart. I finished sharing our testimony on how God blessed us and cleared our credit cards debts after we started being faithful with our tithes and offerings. At the end of the service, one of the church members and the worship leader came to talk to me. The worship leader thanked me for sharing the testimony and said that she/he (prefer not to reveal too much info on person's identity:) is encouraged to be consistent with the tithe. Wow, a worship leader. The person who is responsible to lead a congregation into the presence of God through praise and worship have not been consistent with the tithe. Money is a matter of the heart. Giving 10% of your money to God is worship. The same worship leader will sing beautiful songs like "I surrender all", and the congregation will follow. But, are we really surrendering all or when it comes to money it is a different story. I know of a great ministry and a man of God. I believe as I write, his church has grown to about 30,000 members and I heard and read in his book that he does not appoint anyone in any leadership position in ministry if they are not tithers. If I read this 10 years ago, I will not be comfortable. I will probably judge him as being too strict and legalistic. But now I understand. How can I claim to serve God and even lead worship if I have struggle returning to Him 10% of my income which in the first place, all belongs to him, anyway. Dear friends, our financial breakthrough came by honoring God with our tithes and offerings. Check your heart. Understand the truth about God's principles. They are there for our benefit. Where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. A few months ago, I was invited as a speaker at one of the Full Gospel Businessmen Fellowship chapters in Kuala Lumpur. I shared our life journey and how an anointed man of God rescued us from our financial disaster by teaching us compromised Bible truths. Some of you might know part of our story, we got into credit cards debts and the debts grew to huge amount, up to USD 100,000. Yes, around one hundred thousand american dollars. I am sure about the country you live in but credit cards interest rate is very high.
So, I shared about the main principle that turned our financial situation around and that is what is written in the Bible about the Tithe. Tithe means the tenth, or ten percent. Meaning ten percent (10%) of our income we set it aside and bring back to our God. Not many believers want to read or hear about this but it is the truth. We receive our breakthrough after giving 10 percent to God first. Of course in the natural it does not make sense. We should pay the credit cards debts first. Yes, that is true logically speaking but not true spiritually speaking. So in life, we are always making choices. Do I follow a natural law or a spiritual law. A spiritual law is always more powerful than a natural law or natural situation. With money is the same thing. I can follow a natural law or use common sense. The common sense is to pay credit cards debts first. The spiritual law says to put God's Kingdom first. The details of our story are in my book "Uncensored Truth About Money". Back at our meeting at Full Gospel Businessmen Fellowship. After I finished sharing, a lady came to see me. You could tell she was very nervous. She whispered in my ears that she had a big problem and she kept on showing me her phone. She said that loan sharks are chasing the money from her. as she was talking to me, the phone was vibrating by the phone calls. I have had no experience dealing with loan sharks. I looked at her and told her with faith and confidence that I believe she urgently need to sow a sacrificial seed to the Kingdom of God. I told her that her case is urgent, and she cannot wait for salary so she could give her tithe to the Lord. Yes, that is what I did. I told her to go immediately and pray in the Spirit and ask the Holy Spirit to tell her how much to give, and where to give. I can hear some of you are saying, but Faiket, why you did not give her some money? Good point. The Lord did not ask me to give her money. There are times that God spoke to my wife and I to give money to certain person or ministry but in this case He did not. Most likely, depending on the case, giving money to certain people does not solve their problem. They might have a temporary relief and go back to the same situation. This lady's case is like the story of the widow in the old testament where she was left with the last piece of pan cake and she had to give it the man of God in order to receive her breakthrough. So, I told the lady to give a sacrificial seed money and to ask the Holy Spirit for the amount and where to sow it. I do not know the outcome of the lady's story but I know something for sure. God will always honor his Word. Maybe there is someone out there facing a similar situation. Act in faith. Sow faith seed. The Bible says God gives seed to the sower. Be blessed. ![]() Click Don't you feel the same way? Well, you should! No matter what happened this year, 2018, you should still be thankful. If you reflect on your journey so far, you and I had 365 days of making choices. Some of us made good choices most of the time, and some of us did not make all good choices all the time. What is important is to reflect and take away some lessons. Some say do not look at the past. That is partially true. The real meaning of that statement is not to dwell in your past. But we can learn something from the past so we will not repeat the mistakes of the past in the future. So, let's be specific now. Why am I thankful for 2018? To start with, 2018 is another year of working with my wife and I am really thankful for that. As I have mentioned in another blog, "Working with my wife", not many men like to work together with their wives. I enjoy working with Olivia. Actually, it is a dream come true. Since I quit my job six years ago to focus on my entertainment business, I prayed to God to set Olivia free from the corporate job so she could be with me and do business together. It happened and I am thankful for that. Another reason to be thankful for 2018 is that we managed to settle fully a car loan payment. According to the bank records, if we continued normally with our monthly payments, our car should be paid in two years time. I believe in July 2018 we went to the bank and settle the whole amount. It was a great feeling. Another step towards being debt free. The Bible says, "Owe no one anything, except to love one another, for he who loves another has fulfilled the law" Romans 13:8. It is nice to drive a debt free car:) Our business in 2018 reached another level. The credit goes to my darling Olivia as she worked hard and smart in all the projects. Very thankful for clients who trusted us even when we did not have any credentials for the projects. It is God's favor. Through one of the projects, we get to go all the way to Japan for a week and it was a great trip. One of the most important reasons to be thankful for 2018 is that all our family members enjoyed good health. Thank God for His protection and divine health. Health is wealth and it is true. Without health is not possible to enjoy the wealth. In summary, I am thankful for 2018 as I am another year wiser. I get to spend a lot of time with my wife and the kids. We drive debt free cars, good business, and health. Now it is your turn to reflect on 2018. You don't have to write a blog, unless you chose to, but take the time and write down at least five things you are thankful for 2018 and be excited for 2019. Design the life you deserve.here to edit. ![]() It's almost the end of 2018. Today, I posted a selfie photo in Instagram and Facebook overlooking outside my house, with the caption "Counting the Blessings". I am so thankful to God for this year. Why is it important to count the blessings? I believe, counting the blessings makes me humble before God and men because by doing that I realize more and more that that blessings come from Him and it is not about me. That is why, every day, we declare as a family that we are blessed and highly favorite. So, as I look at this year, it is just amazing to go through what the Lord has done. I wrote in my previous blog about working with my wife. Yes, it is worth mentioning that one of the blessings of 2018, is working with my wife, Olivia. She has done a great job bringing our business to a new level. God has given her wisdom to manage different teams, clients, and "her husband". Another important reason to count the blessings is that it reminds me of the goodness and the mercy of God. There were situations that we could have been hurt like in a car accident but the Lord protected us. I was driving on a highway and the family is in the car and suddenly I see this four wheel drive coming from the back really fast. I am on the fast lane and it is one of those moments that you are not sure whether to give away or stay in your lane. I decided to quickly give away and I felt the four wheel front tire touched the bumper of my car and he overtook us. I stopped the car and noticed the black marks left on the bumper but nothing serious. So, I thank God for protection. I count the blessings as it reminds of God's favor. We have experienced a lot of favor in our business. We have clients that in the natural way was not possible to have a deal with, yet God opened the doors for us and every time He will put someone that favors us. Many people do not have a revelation of God's favor. It is a very powerful truth. Expect His favor in your life. It is real. I count the blessings of God because by doing this, I will receive even more blessings in 2019. It is the principle of sowing and reaping. I sow gratitude and I will get even more to be grateful next year. Yes, I believe 2019 will be a greater year. So, what are you waiting for...count your blessings, NOW!k here to edit. |
